Here is a look at our weekend Full-Court Press brought to you by JL Mobile Truck and Trailer Repair.
JOPLIN BOYS 59, LEBANON 48
After an even-paced first quarter, Joplin built an 11-point lead by halftime and came out strong in the second half to pull away for a win against Lebanon over the weekend.
The Eagles outscored the Yellowjackets 17-6 in the second period and came out of the locker room with a 12-5 advantage in the third quarter to build an 18-point cushion with one quarter to play.
"I thought we had a pretty solid performance on both ends of the floor this evening,” Joplin coach Nick Pfeifer told Joplin Sports Hub. “Defensively, I thought we got sharper as the game went on and were able to force them to shoot contested and difficult shots, especially from 3. Offensively, I thought we were a little quick on the trigger in the first half but really did a nice job getting to the rim in the second half and controlling the game when we had a lead."
Joplin is 4-4 on the season.
Cooper Williams and Collis Jones each scored 12 points, while Aiden Scourten added 10. Fred Taylor and David Bhend each scored eight in the win.
