The Carthage wrestling team delivered strong performances in the Harrisonville Holiday Tournament and came away with a fourth-place finish.
At 106 pounds, Randy Teo placed fourth, contributing 51 team points. He secured victories by fall in five matches, including an impressive quarterfinal win, before finishing the tournament with a fourth-place medal after tough battles in the semifinals and the third-place match.
Malakhi Marshall, wrestling at 113 pounds, placed ninth and scored 31 points. Despite early challenges, he claimed victory in the ninth-place match with a sudden victory against a competitor from Webb City.
Tanner Putt excelled at 120 pounds, taking third place with 55 team points. Putt earned five wins, four of which came by fall, culminating in a decisive third-place win over Warrensburg’s Dayton Dunn by fall in the third period.
At 126 pounds, Caden Groom claimed third place with an impressive 74 team points. Groom's performance included five wins by fall and a medical forfeit victory to secure his medal.
Grady Huntley, competing at 132 pounds, placed seventh and contributed 58 points. Huntley’s path was marked by multiple pins, including a decisive win in the seventh place match.
At 138 pounds, Wyatt Hole placed 22nd, scoring 8 points.
Emerson Ixcol delivered a strong showing at 144 pounds, placing 10th and adding 44 points.
Aydan Nye achieved a standout second-place finish at 150 pounds, scoring 80.5 team points. Nye defeated Harrisonville’s Cayden Bohnert by fall in the second period of the semifinals before he fell by a 10-4 decision in the championship round.
Latrell Abbasi, wrestling at 175 pounds, secured a fourth-place finish with 67 points.
Steve Serious placed eighth at 190 pounds, contributing 52 points.
Jaxton Lopez earned fourth place at 285 pounds, scoring 75 points.
