CARTHAGE TAKES LENDEL THOMAS TITLE
Carthage boys basketball defeated three ranked teams on the way to the Lendel Thomas Classic tournament title, including a 65-61 win over host Harrison, Arkansas. 

Kruz Castor, who was named tournament MVP, and Trent Yates each had 11 points to lead the Tigers in the championship win.

Carthage is 6-2 and hosts Monett on Jan. 3.


JOPLIN DEFEATS BOONEVILLE

Joplin defeated Boonville 72-60 over the weekend on the 12 Courts of Christmas.

Brecken Green had 19 points, Collis Jones scored 12 and Hudson Matthiesen had 10 to lead the Eagles.

Joplin is 3-4 on the season and hosts Lebanon on Jan. 3.


NEOSHO GOES 1-2 AS HOST; CJ FINISHES 2-1

The Neosho boys hosted the Neosho Holiday Classic and finished with a 1-2 record. 

Carl Junction went 2-1 in the Neosho Holiday Classic with wins over Seneca and Huntsville.

Brody Pant was named to the all-tournament team.

Neosho is 4-7 on the season and is at Lamar on Jan. 6.

Carl Junction is 8-3 and takes on Pittsburg on Jan. 7.


MCAULEY BOYS EARN WIN

The McAuley boys team beat Southwest on Friday and fell to East Newton on Saturday in the Holiday Tournament. 

Connor Taffner had 16 points to lead the Warriors, while Max Anreder finished with 15. Michael Parrigon had nine in the win over Southwest.

McAuely is 9-3 on the season and takes on Golden City on Jan. 9.


CARTHAGE GIRLS TAKE PART IN PINK & WHITE

The Carthage girls basketball team has a 2-1 record in the 12th annual Pink & White Lady Classic in Springfield with a 35-31 win over Chadwick in overtime before beating Miller 54-45 on Monday.

Lauren Choate had 14 points to lead the Tigers, while Lexa Youngblood finished with 10 against Chadwick.

Against Miller, Youngblood had 17 points, while Choate scored 15. Maggie Boyd added 12 points in the win.

Carthage is 5-4 on the season and hosts Central on Jan. 7.


NEOSHO GIRLS HOST HOLIDAY CLASSIC; WEBB CITY TAKES SECOND

The Neosho girls hosted the Neosho Holiday Classic and went 1-2 with a win over 48-41 Seneca on Saturday.
