New Heights Christian Academy had several students ink their names to National Letters of Intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level.

Toryn Fink is continuing her volleyball career at Grand View University.

“Being able to continue to play volleyball in college means so much to me,” Fink said to Joplin Sports Hub. “I have been playing volleyball ever since I could remember. As soon as I figured out that I had the opportunity to play volleyball at the collegiate level I knew I had to go for it.”

Jayce Walker is continuing his baseball career with Evangel University.

“The thing I love (about baseball) is that I have never gotten tired of working,” Walker said. “I have fallen in love with the journey and I think that is one thing that gets you to the next level.

Knowing the journey is gonna be hard at times but continuing to grind through it is where the most growth shows up. I love to compete and I love the idea of being surrounded by a bunch of guys that are all competing for the job.”

Josh Anderson will also be playing college baseball after signing his letter of intent with Central Methodist University.

“I have played baseball since I was able to walk and it has always been a dream of mine to continue playing past high school and getting a chance to continue playing means a lot to me,” Anderson said.

Libby Fanning signed her letter of intent with Evangel to continue playing basketball.

“It means so much to me to be able to continue playing basketball at the college level,” Fanning said. “I have dreamed of this moment since I was eight years old when I started playing the game. Basketball has been such a big part of my life. I have gotten to meet so many new people and have made lifelong friendships through it. I can't wait to add on to my basketball family.”
