Carl Junction held a ceremony for several students getting the chance of a lifetime when they signed National Letters of Intent last week on the early National Signing Day.

The Bulldogs saw si athletes sign NLIs:

Madi Olds signed with Pittsburg State to continue her career in track and field throwing the javelin.

“It is an honor to compete at the next level,” Olds told Joplin Sports Hub. “I have always wanted to be a collegiate athlete, but I thought I would be playing softball. It was a tough decision because I had some very great schools I was deciding between.”

Olivia Arnold signed with Missouri Southern for Cheerleader.

“I’m so excited,” Arnold said. “God has blessed me to be able to sign my letter of intent. I feel so blessed to even be able to play this sport. There are little girls with dreams like this. Some will be able to have this opportunity, and some might not be able to. I am doing it for them, not just myself.”

Karissa Chase inked her name with Missouri State volleyball, while Sydney Ward also signed with MSU for track and field.

Elyanna Dogotch signed her NLI with Southwest Minnesota State to join its swim team, while Jack Spencer signed with University of Missouri-Kansas City for golf.

“I love that hard work can get you very far in golf,” Spencer said. “It’s not a sport where size matters and it’s a sport where you will get rewarded for your hard work.”
