ICYMI: Joplin, Webb City and Mac County softball earn wins

JOPLIN 5, GLENDALE 2

Joplin plated four runs in the fourth inning to pace the way to a win over Glendale on Tuesday.

Ava Wolf earned the win in the circle after allowing two runs, one earned, on seven hits, two walks and eight strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.

Wolf also tripled at the plate, with Lily Glover adding a hit and an RBI. Carlie Howard had a hit and scored a run for Joplin.

WEBB CITY 12, LEBANON 2

WEBB CIT, Mo. — Alex Maturino tallied four hits at the plate and Webb City put nine runs on the board in the fifth inning to beat Lebanon in five frames on Tuesday.

Maturino doubled, drove in two and scored twice. Abby Sargent had three hits, including a triple, drove in two and scored twice. 

Addi Brown earned the win in relief after allowing two runs on five hits in 2 2/3 innings.

MCDONALD COUNTY 12, SENECA 4

ANDERSON, Mo. — McDonald County scored three times in the first, once in the second, five times in the fourth and three more times in the fifth inning to earn a convincing win over Seneca.

Dakota O’Brien earned the win after allowing four runs on eight hits in six innings.

Callie Rhoades took the loss after allowing five runs, four earned, on five hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Shianne Starr had three hits, two RBI and scored twice for the Mustangs.

Kahli Fields had three hits, including a triple, an RBI and two runs scored.
