VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Joplin, Carthage travel to Ray-Pec

JOPLIN EARNS FIRST WIN

Joplin volleyball went 1-2 on the week, taking a 3-0 loss to Lebanon  on Thursday before falling  2-0 (25-11, 25-11) in a loss to Raymore-Peculiar in a before earning its first win of the season 2-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-14) over Shawnee Mission West. 

In the win, Adalynn Noirfalise finished with 18 assists, four kills and a block, while contributing seven digs on defense and seven aces in service.

Aubrey Strickland had 11 kills and three blocks, while Amy Kessler had four kills, three blocks, six block assists and an ace.

Gracie Sofia had 12 digs and an ace, while Lydia Barwick had seven digs and an ace.


CARTHAGE SPLITS OVER WEEKEND

Carthage volleyball also traveled to Ray-Pec over the weekend and split a pair of matchups, beating Shawnee Mission West 2-1 (20-25, 25-14, 25-22) before falling to Ray-Pec 2-1 (21-25, 25-8, 25-16).

In the win, Millie Templeman had eight kills, three aces and six digs. Jaidyn Brunnert closed with seven kills, eight assists, two aces, five digs.

Elsie Willis had four Kills and a dig, with London Shepherd adding four kills, a block and an ace.

Peyton Ray had two kills, a block, an ace and two digs.

Briley Jadwin added four aces, eight assists and four digs, while Sadie Comer had six digs and an ace.
